Hyde Park is a well-known centre within Leeds for student life, equal distance between Leeds City Centre and Headingley it is definitely the best of both worlds. Hyde Park is great for the more relaxed side of student life with a huge park; Woodhouse Moor perfect for picnics, BBQ’s and kicking back with friends in the occasional sunshine.

Brudenell Hyde Park LeedsSocialising in Hyde Park is great due to its short distance from Headingley and the City Centre so you can take your pick of the pubs and bars whilst starting the night with one of Hyde Parks locals for a few drinks before a big night out. Hyde Park also has a brilliant music scene with the iconic Brudenell Social Club featuring Indie bands regularly, hosting a number of music themed nights. and for something a little bit different check out the arty nights showcasing poetry, short films and art.

Hyde Park is unique as it often has various events that take place there from summer street parties, to the awesome fireworks display and bonfire in November. The biggest event it hosts is Unity Day, a day filled with drinking; music from DJ tents and an open mic area for musicians; also cricket and sports areas for people to enjoy a friendly game of footy.

The food locations are unlike others in Leeds with independent cafes and restaurants ruling the main street, you’re sure to get a taste of a range of cuisines. Oranaise, a restaurant that has been situated in the area for 12 years, serves up tasty North African food and its definitely one to check out. If North African food doesn’t take your fancy, then you can try LS6 or Coffee on the Cresent which are just a few of the many places to grab a lovely brunch or coffee on the go Hyde Park.

Hyde Park is also home to the Hyde Park Picture House built in 1914 it’s among the oldest in the UK and provides an authentic aspect of Cinema with regular viewing of the newest films in a totally unique atmosphere!
